Cristina Santopaolo is a self-taught artist born in São Paulo, whose interest in art was sparked in Paris, where she lived for 7 years. She started with studies in drawing and watercolor, and later, oil painting in Paraty, where she honed her techniques inspired by local masters.
In 2017, she joined a study group on creativity and psychoanalysis at MAM São Paulo. She studied Renaissance techniques with a group from Unicamp and participated in art history meetings at the studios of the Tomie Ohtake Institute. She also attended workshops at the MAM on Acrylic Painting and Portraits.
Her abstract works focus on the harmony between color and form, while her figurative pieces concentrate on natural shapes and original portraits.
Cristina's first solo exhibition took place in 2010 at the Memorial da Cidade in Vinhedo. She has also participated in group exhibitions in São Paulo. In 2022, in the "No War" competition promoted by the Menduina-Schneider Gallery in Los Angeles, she received an award for originality. In 2024, her works were featured in exhibitions such as "Terra" at Casa Odisseia, where she won first place, and "Arte Moderna" at the São Paulo Court of Justice, where she received a silver medal. In July 2024, her painting The Bird Symphony was honored by an American pianist who composed a piece inspired by the painting, which was presented at the Inside the Piano Gallery, Music Exhibition concert in Manhattan. In September 2024, she participated in the international exhibition Totem of Colors in the city of Socorro, São Paulo.
In 2025, she takes part in the exhibition Imigrantes.
